Organizing Appreciation Events: What You Need to Know

You have just had a long day at work and are wrapping up to go home. That’s when your senior manager walks in and gives you a new assignment – to plan an upcoming employee appreciation event. Let’s take a look at some things to keep in mind while planning a corporate event:

Plan Your Budget

Most employee appreciation events are sponsored by the hosting organization. If you are responsible for organizing an entire event such as this, then you have to plan your budget accordingly. Create the Guest List

Based on the number of people attending the event you can plan for the food and beverages, entertainment, and other amenities. Once you have planned your budget and selected your target audience, the next step is to choose an appropriate venue. Depending on the number of expected attendees, you can have the event in your company auditorium, a top-tier hotel, or a luxury banquet hall. Make sure the venue is not too far from your organization as people will travel to the venue post work. Additionally, select a place which also offers catering services. This way, you won’t have to hunt for a caterer separately. This also ensures that the service you pick is credible and familiar with the logistics of the venue. 

Have an Exciting Menu

No event can be successful without a glorious food menu. Make sure you arrange for a diverse menu with all kinds of food options. You can either opt for a buffet serving system or select elaborate plated meals. Both have advantages and disadvantages of their own. Plated meals are comfortable for guests to partake but require the presence of servers. On the other hand, buffet stations offer a lot of room for interaction and movement but it might take a while for everyone to get their food.
